    1 km^2 = 1000m x 1000m = 1 x 10^6 m^2

    (145 acres / 247 acres) x 1 x 10^6 m^2 = 5.87 x 10^5 m^2

    5.5 g/m^2 x 5.87 x 10^5 m^2 = 3.23 x 10^6 g

    3.23 x 10^6 g x 1kg/10000 g = 3.23 x 10^3 kg
