    Let x be the width of carpet

    Length: 20+x

    Perimeter: 2 (l+w)

    176 = 2 (x+20+x)

    176/2 = 2x+20

    88-20 = 2x

    68/2 = x

    34" = x

    Length: 20+34 = > 54"

    Dimensions: 34" x 54"
