    In this case,

    slope = - 3

    x-intercept:

    -3x - 1 = 0

    3x = - 1

    x = - 1/3

    So

    x intercept = (-1/3, 0)

    y-intercept = (0,-1)

    add 1 to each side

    1 = - 3x

    divide by - 3
