    Second coordinate is connected with y, so (,5) means y=5

    We have to substitute y=5 to y=x+7 to get x

    y=x+7

    5=x+7 / - 7 subtract 7 both sides

    5-7=x

    -2=x

    Now we know that (-2,5) its the naswer

    The two numbers in the parentheses have to fit the equation and make it

    a true statement.

    - - The second number is always the value of 'y'. So write the equation down,

    with '5' in place of the 'y'.

    - - Then solve the equation you get to find out what 'x' must be.

    - - The first number in the parentheses is the value you find for 'x'.
