Emily has 85 books on her bookshelf. of those books, 20% are mysteries, 18 are adventure stories, and the rest are fantasies. what is the simplified ratio of fantasies to total books on her bookshelf?

    85 book in total 20% of 85 is 17.00 17 mysteries + 18 adventures = 35.

    85 - 35 is 50 fantisies

    Total number of books = 85

    20% of books are mystery books = 20% of 85 = 0.2*85 = 17

    So number of mystery books = 17

    Number of adventure stories = 18

    Number of fantasy books = total number of books - (number of mystery books + number of adventure stories)

    Number of fantasy books = 85 - (17+18) = 85 - 35 = 50

    Answer : Number of fantasies in the library are 50.
