On Saturday an orchard sold 83 bags of apples. There are 27 Apples in each bag. How many apples were sold?

    Just do 83 x 27 to find how many apples.

    80*20+80*7+3*20+3*7

    1600+560+60+21

    2160+81

    = 2241 apples.
