Fill in the blanks so the left side is a perfect square trinomial. That is, complete the square.

x^2+12x + = (x+) ^2

    Focus on 12x. Divide the 12 by 2. = 6.

    The answer is (x+6) ^2. On the right side

    On the left side. Use the 6 and square it. 6^2 = 36
