    x + 9 = 2 (x - 1) ^2

    x + 9 = 2 (x^2 - 2x + 1)

    x + 9 = 2x^2 - 4x + 2

    2x^2 - 4x + 2 - x - 9 = 0

    2x^2 - 5x - 7 = 0
