Set it up as an equation

d = dimes

n = nickles

q = quarters

3 times as many dimes as nickles:

d = 3n

4 more quaters than nickles:

n = q - 4

The total value of the coins are

4.60 = 0.10*d + 0.05*n + 0.25*q
