In this problem you cross multiple. So on Monday 15 out 20 students vote which is 15/20 and the second one is 16 students present and we don't know how many people voted which is x/16 so we multiple 20 by x and 16 by 15 we get 20x=240 we need to isolate x so we divide 20 on both sides and x=12
