We need to make the denominators the same number. To do this we need to find a number that the denominator 3 and the denominator 4 have in common. The closest number that 3 and 4 have in common is 12. We then multiple the fraction 2/3 by 4/4 to get 9/12. Then we multiply the fraction 3/4 by 3/3 to get the fraction 9/12. Then we add them together and get 17/12. Then we simply if further and get 1 and 5/12.
