    Let x be the number of dime then the number of quarter will be 35-x

    1 dime = 10 c & 1 quarter = 25 c, so

    (x*10) + (35-x) (.25) = 575

    -15x = - 300

    15x = 300 & x = 20 (dime) & Quarter = 15
