    set up a proportion comparing the height of the building with the height of the woman and the shadow of the building with the shadow of the woman

    12/5=8/x

    now cross multiply

    12x=40

    then divide by 12 on both sides

    40/12 which is about 3.3 feet

    3 feet

    Step-by-step explanation:

    8/12 =.6

    .6 is how much Shadow is produced for one foot

    .6 * 5 = 3

    3 is the shadow length
