    Let the number be X

    (2*X) + 6=-24

    2X+6=24

    2X=24-6

    2X=18

    X=9

    Well not sure what the answer should be. if you are trying to find what x equals, it would be - 18. If you need the equation, it would be 2 * (x+6) = - 24
