    V0 = 0 and h0 = 25. At the time the hammer hits the ground, the height of the hammer is 0. i. e. h (t) = 0

    0 = - 4.9t^2 + 25

    4.9t^2 = 25

    t^2 = 25/4.9 = 5.10

    t = sqrt (5.10) = 2.3 s.
