First let's covert ft to inches:

    tiles - 6*6 = 36 sq. in.

    floor - 3ft*2ft. = (3*12) * (2*12) = 36*24

    = 864 sq. in.

now divide total (floor) by each tile:

    864:36 = 24 tiles
