a factor is something that can be divisible by a number equally, for instance 3 is a factor of 9 since it goes into it as a whole number meaning there is no decimal left over. but a multiple is a number in which the number can go into another number an equal amount of times, so 24 is a multiple of 6 because 6 evenly goes into 24 4 times.
