A painting measures 2.4 feet from left to right. It's hung in the center of a rectangular wall measuring 20 feet from left to right. What is the distance between the right edge of the painting and the right edge of the wall? Assume that the painting does not tilt.

    To find the distance, you subtract 2.4 from 20

    20 - 2.4 = 17.6

    now divide the answer by two.

    17.6 / 2 = 8.8

    the distance from the right edge of the painting to the right edge of the wall is 8.8 ft
