How do I change mixed numbers into improper fractions

    For example if you have the mixed number 1 2/3 you have to keep the denominator (number below the fraction bar) and multiply the whole number with the denominator, then you take that and add it to the numerator (the number above the fraction bar). The answer is 5/3.
