    The African coasts were rich in minerals and gold so it was traded from there while India and China were rich in silk, cotton, grain along with the very valuable salt which was also a commodity of the eastern and south eastern part of Asia.

    The European trade route largely contributed to metals and non metals required for construction as well as other elements.
