First you must multiply 3/4 times 5 to find out how many cups of flour was put into the bowl.

    3/4*5/1=15/4

Change improper fraction to mixed number.

    15/4 = 3 and 3/4

    Subtract 1/3 from 3 and 3/4

    3 3/4 = 3 9/12 = 2 21/12

    1/3 = 4/12. = 4/12

    Answer; 3 and 5/12
