    Let x be the price of the banner before the sale. Therefore, the new price of one banner is x - 3. The cost of four of these banners will be 4 (x - 3), which is equivalent to 18. Therefore, 4 (x - 3) = 18. Solving this equation, 4x - 12 = 18. 4x = 30. x = $7.50.
