A total of 17,100 seats are available for the next hockey game. If 62% of the tickets have been sold how many seats are in the arena

    A (100-62) / 100=17100 multiply both sides by 100

    a (100-62) = 1710000 combine like terms on left side

    38a=1710000 divide both sides by 38

    a=45000

    So the arena has a total of 45000 seats.
