Four times the first of three consecutive even integers is six more than the product of two and the third integer. Find the integers.

    1. Assign your variables.

    Let X = first integer

    X+2 = second integer

    X+4 = third integer

    2. Formulate the equation

    4X = 6 + 2 (X+4)

    X=7

    first integer = 7

    second integer = 7+2 = 9

    third integer = 7+4 = 11
