A survey was taken of 2000 voters before an election. 1650 of the ones surveyed said they would vote for candidate A. What percent of those surveyed planned to vote for candidate A.

    Total of 2000 voters ... 1650 said they would vote for candidate A

    the percent who voted for candidate A is : 1650/2000 = 0.825

    multiply that by 100 to get ur percent ... 0.825 * 100 = 82.5% <==
