    (R + 8) represents the number of seats.

    Total seats = R (R + 8)

    R (R + 8) = 884

    R^2 + 8R - 884 = 0

    (R - 26) (R + 34) = 0

    R = 26

    so that means there are 26 rows in the movie theater.

    no of seats rows will be equal to 26

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let as assume number of rows be 'R'

    number of seats in the rows be 'R+8'

    number of seats can be taken as the number of columns in theater

    total no of seats will be

    = number of column * number of rows

    884 = (R+8) * R

    R² + 8 R - 884 = 0

    R² + 34 R - 26 R - 884 = 0

    (R + 34) - 26 (R + 34) = 0

    (R + 34) (R-26) = 0

    R = 26,-34

    hence, no of seats rows will be equal to 26 and column will be equal to 34.
