Maria needs 2 1/4 yards of fabric. She already has 1 3/8 yards. How many more yards of fabric does she need?

    If you convert 2 and 1/4 to eighths, it will be 2 and 2/8, or 18/8. 1 and 3/8 in an improper fraction is 11/8. if you subtract 18/8 from 11/8, you will get 7/8
