A political gathering in south America held 788 people. Each of south America's 14 countries were equally represented. The remaining were guest from the United States. How many guests were from the United States?

    788 : 14 = 56 with a decimal. Since there cannot be a decimal of a person you know that each country has 56 people. Now you multiply 14 by 56 to get 784. Once you subtract that from 788 you'll get 4 so there are 4 guests from the United States
