Sound intensity, l, from a spherical source is a function of the distance, r, from the source of the sound. It is represented by the function I = P/4pir^2 where p is the power of the sound. Explain the behavior of the graph of l and what it means in context.

    The formula I = P/4pir^2 represents the dependence between the sound intensity I, the distance r from the source and the power of the source p.

    In one dimension the intensity is constant as the wave travels. In two or three dimensions, however, the intensity decreases as you get further from the source.
