Ms. Wong is redecorating her office. She has a choice of 7 colors of paint, 4 kinds of curtains, 3 colors of carpet, and 2 styles of furniture. How many different ways are there to redecorate if she can choose two different colors of paint, one kind of curtain, one color of carpet, and one style of furniture?

    She can use 2/7 colors of paint

    1/4 curtains

    1/3 carpets

    and 1/2 styles of furniture

    so in order to find probability, which is related to different ways of decorating and finding all possibilities, you need tu multiply all of the fractions together

    2/7x1/4x1/3x1/2 = 2/168, which simplifies to 1/84

    this fraction represents if she were to randomly pick an arrangement, 1 in 84 would be what she has in mind.

    using this we notice there are 84 in total

    so 84 different ways
