7 2/3+n=9 1/12
3•4=12
2•4=8
7 8/12+n = 9 1/12 (these fractions have common denominators)
switch the operation ( + to - ) and get the fraction by themselves
8/12-1/12=7/12
now subtract the whole numbers
9-7=2
finally answer 2 7/12
