Solve using linear combination

4x+y=5

3x+y=3

    X = 2, y = - 3

    You have to multiply the second equation by a negative and the you'll get, - 3x-y=-3. the y's cancel out and then you combine the x's and the 5 and the 3 and then x=2 and then you pick one of the two equations and sub in the x and solve for y.
