Standard form is ax+by=c where a, b, and c are integers, and a is normally positive

    so

    8-5y=-2x

    add 2x to both sides

    8+2x-5y=0

    minus 8 both sides

    2x-5y=-8

the equation in standard form is 2x-5y=-8
