In your math class there are 15 boys and 21 girls. 12 of the boys and 15 of the girls are freshmen. if you randomly choose a student in your class, what is the probability that you'll choose a girl or a freshman?

    Total freshmen = 12+15=27, so the probability of choosing a freshman is 27/36, which reduces to 3/4.
