You need to work out how many seats you can fit in an area of the arena for an upcoming 5 a-side football match.

The formula to use is: number of seats = lw/0.5

(when l means length and w means width)

Using the measurements below work out how many seats are needed.

    1. The problem gives you the formula to calculate the number of seats, which is:

    number of seats=lw/0.5

    x=lw/0.5

    Let's call the number of seats "x".

    "l" is the length (l=15 meters).

    "w" is the width (w=3 meters).

    2. Then, you only have to substitute these values into the formula x=lw/0.5, as below:

    x=lw/0.5

    x = (15x3) / 0.5

    x=45/0.5

    3. Therefore the number of the seats is:

    x=90 seats
