To find if whether their price is proportional:

First, find the price of 1 orange.

Since we are given two variables we need to divide each price by the number of oranges

    1) 7.00/4 = 1.75

$1.75 is the cost of 1 orange.

Now find out the price of 1 orange from the second variable.

Again we do the same thing: divide the price by the number of oranges.

    2) 12.5/7 = 1.785 ...

    Round it = 1.79

So comparing the prices of one orange for each variable, we can tell that $1.75 is very close to $1.79 however since it is not the same, we know that their price is not proportional.
