Corey has $120 in savings and is planning to add $40 each week. Dana has $450 in savings and is planning to add $30 each week. Their plan is to wait until their savings are equal and then load up their old Volkswagen bus and take a road trip. They figure out that the equation used to determine how many weeks it will take until their savings are equal is 40w + 120 30w + 450, where w is the number of weeks they have been saving.

$450-$120 to get the difference of their savings

witch is $330 then you subtract the additional money being added each week which is $40-$30 equals to $10 difference so in order for their accounts to balance you divide the $330 by the $10 difference which will be 33 now that will mean that in 33 weeks their account will be balanced
