Given a square pyramid with a height of 27 ft and a volume of 5,040 cubic feet, find the length of one side of the square base. Round to the nearest tenth.

    V=1/3 times height times base

    height=27

    base=?

    v=5040

    5040 = (1/3) 27 base area

    5040=9 times base area

    divide both sides by 9

    560=base aera

    square is side^2 so

    560=side^2

    sqrt both sides

    23.6643=side

    tenth

    23.7 feet is one isde
