    5 weeks

    Step-by-step explanation:

    We are given the following information;

    Price of gas in Bakersville as $2.10 per gallon

    (increment per week is $0.20)

    Price of gas in Springfield as $2.60 per gallon

    (Increment per week as $0.10)

    We are required to determine the number of weeks it will take for the prices to be the same in the two cities.

    Assuming it will take n weeks for the prices to be the same, then

    New price in Bakersville = $2.10 + $0.20n

    New price in Spring field = $2.60 + $0.10n

    Thus;

    $2.10 + $0.20n = $2.60 + $0.10n

    combining the like terms

    0.10 n = 0.50

    n = 5

    = 5 weeks

    Therefore, it will take 5 weeks for the prices to be the same both cities
