nearest tenth:243.9 it goes up because the number after is bigger than 5
nearest hundredth:243.88 it gets rounded up because the number after is 5
(you round up when the number after is 5 or bigger it stays the same when less than 5)

So if you round to the nearest tenth it equals 243.88
and for the nearest hundred it equals 243.9
