    You can find this answer by simply doing the reverse of the Pythagorean Theorem. The formula for Pythagorean Theorem is a^2+b^2=c^2, so the reverse would be b^2=c^2-a^2. All we have to do is substitute in the numbers and solve.

    b^2=c^2-a^2

    b^2=36^2-32^2

    b^2=272

    sqrt (b^2) sqrt (272)

    b=16.492

    Since we are rounding to the nearest tenth, our answer will be 16.5 meters.
