    L=6 cm l=3

    Step-by-step explanation:

    x+y=45

    L=2l

    Big Square Area

    L*L=x

    Little Square

    l*l=y

    Substituting

    (L*L) + (l*l) = 45

    (2l*2l) + (l*l) = 45

    (4l^2) + (l^2) = 45

    5l^2=45

    l^2=45/5

    l^2=9

    l=sqrt (9)

    l=3

    L=2 (3)

    L=6
