    We know the area of each tile

    we need to find the area of the room so we can find how many tiles are needed

    area=legnth times width

    legnth=20

    widht=10

    notice that the area of the tiles is in inches and the area of the room is in feet so convert to inches

    1 foot=12 inches

    20 feet=12 times 20 inches=240 inches

    10 feet=12 times 10=120 inches

    legnth=240 inches

    widht=120 inches

    area=240 times 120

    area=28800

    how many 100 in^2 tiles will make 28800 in^2

    how many tiles times 100 in^2=28800 in^2

    divide both sides by 100in^2

    how many tiles=288

    answer is 288 tiles needed
