If painters average painting 3/4 of a room with 2/5 of a gallon of paint, then they can paint, on average,? Rooms per gallon

    Suppose the numbers that can be painted per gallon to be x

    then 3/4:2/5=x/1

    cross multiply the equations and find x to be 15/8 rooms
