    Complimentary angles add up to 90 degrees.

    x + y = 90

    x = 3y ... one angle is 3 times the other

    3y + y = 90

    4y = 90

    y = 90/4

    y = 22.5 < = = this is one angle

    x = 3y

    x = 3 (22.5)

    x = 67.5 < = = this is the other angle
