A manufacturing plant, which produces CDs, has monthly overhead costs of $6000. Each disk costs 18 cents to produce and sells for 30 cents. How many disks must be sold in order for the plant to make a profit?

    30 - 18 = 12 ... so they make a 0.12 cent profit off each CD

    0.12x > 6000

    x > 6000/0.12

    x > 50,000 ... so basically, they have to make 50,001 CD's
