    y + (y+1) + (y+2) = - 21

    combine like terms

    3y + 3 = - 21

    subtract 3 from each side

    3y = - 24

    divide by 3

    y = - 8

    y+1 = - 7

    y+2 = - 6

    Answer: - 8, - 7, - 6
