    You get all the v's on one side by adding 24v to both sides

    4v-13-10v = 12-24v + 5

    +24v + 24v

    And then you would get

    4v-13-10v+24v = 12+5

    Then combine like terms

    18v-13=17

    Then you would get v alone by adding 13 to both sides

    18v-13 = 17

    +13 + 13

    That would give you

    18v=30

    Then divide both sides by 18 to get your final answer

    18v = 30

    /18 / 18

    Your final answer is ...

    V=1.66
