    The distance traveled is equal to the product of the speed and the time. For the first day,

    d = (45 mile/h) (6 h) = 270 miles

    On the second day,

    d = (45 mile/h) (7 h) = 315 miles

    The total distance traveled after 2 days is equal to 585 miles. Subtracting this value from the given distance will give us an answer of 265 miles.
