Manny and Emma are both competing in a long jump competition at their school. Manny can jump four fifths of the distance that Emma can jump. Manny can jump 40 inches. How far can Emma jump?. A. 40.8 B. 50 C. 32 D. 39.2

    Let us assume the distance that Emma can jump = x

    Then

    The distance that Manny can jump = 4x/5

    The distance that manny can jump is also given and that is = 40 inches

    Then

    4x/5 = 40

    4x = 40 * 5

    4x = 200

    x = 50 inches

    From the above deduction, it can be concluded that the correct option among all the options that are given in the question is the second option or option "B".
